half2Clean the secondary driven bevel gear teeth of old oil and grease residue3Apply thin, even coat of machinist-layout
dye to several teeth ofthe gear 1If tooth contact pattern is comparable to an incorrect pattern, correct tooth contact according
to the following chartTooth Contact Contacts at Top Shim Correction Decrease Shim Thickness 4Install the secondary driven
output shaft assembly5Rotate the secondary driven bevel gear several revolutions in both directions6Examine the tooth contact
pattern in the dye and compare the pattern to the illustrationsIncorrect (contact at tooth top) 1 Contacts at Root 1 Increase
Shim Thickness 1 INOTE: To correct tooth contact, steps and (with NOTE) of "Correcting Backlash" must be followed and the
