I NOTE: If the meter shows battery voltage, the main wiring harness is good; proceed to test the switchcomponent, the connector,
when resistance tests to avoid damaging multimeter I NOTE: The brake lever must be compressed for this testAlso, the ignition
switch must be in the OFF position 1Set the meter selector to the OHMS position 2Connect the red tester lead to one black
wire; then connect the black tester lead to the other black wire Brakelight Switch (Handlebar Control) The switch connector
is the two-prong black connector in front of the steering postTo access the connector, the front rack and front fenders must
be removed (see Section 8)INOTE: The ignition switch must be in the ON positionVOLTAGE (Wiring Harness Connector) 1Set the
meter selector to the D.CVoltage position 3When the lever is compressed, the meter must show less than ohmINOTE: If the meter
shows more than ohm of resistance, troubleshoot replace the switchcomponent, the connector, or the switch wiring harness
