3Place the cylinder on the surface plate covered with #400 grit wet-or-dry sandpaperUsing light pressure, move the cylinder
apply oil to the cylinder boreIf the bore is severely damaged or gouged, replace the cylinder Inspecting Cam Chain Guide
1Inspect cam chain guide for cuts, tears, breaks, or chips2If the chain guide is damaged, it must be replacedHoning Cylinder
1Using slide gauge and dial indicator or snap gauge, measure the cylinder bore diameter in three locations from top to bottom
and again from top to bottom at 90 from the first measurements for total of six measurementsThe trueness (out-of-roundness)
is the difference between the highest and lowest readingMaximum trueness (out-of-roundness) must not exceed specifications
4If any measurement exceeds the limit, bore or replace the cylinder to accommodate an oversized piston and ringsNOTE: Oversized
piston and rings are available in 0.50 mm (0.020 in only Measuring Camshaft Runout NOTE: If the camshaft is out of tolerance,
it must be replaced 1Place the camshaft on set of blocks; then position the dial indicator contact point against the shaft
