COUNTERSHAFT NOTE: When installing the countershaft assembly, account for the washer on each end of the shaft ! CAUTION When
the left side: 1Remove the left drive gear washer; then remove the high driven gear and bearing2In order, remove bushing,
driven gear washer, and sliding dogAssembling From the left side: 1Install the sliding dog, driven gear washer, and bushing2Install
bearing and high driven gear; then install the left drive gear washerFrom the right side: 1Install driven gear washer, bushing,
bearing and low driven gear2Install lock washer, lock washer, washer and bushing3Install bearing, reverse driven gear, washer,
and the snap ring4Install reverse driven gear spacer, snap ring, reverse driven gear dog, and drive gear #2; then install
the right drive gear washerCC686 NOTE: The beveled side of the secondary drive gear must face upward 2Apply red Loctite #271
to the threads of the output shaft; then secure with the nutTighten nut to 59 ft-lb; then using punch, peen the nut 3Apply
liberal amount of engine oil to the crankshaft bearingUsing propane torch, heat the bearing until the oil begins to smoke;
