ELECTRICAL CHARGING SYSTEM TESTING Whenever charging system problems are suspected, proceed with the following system checkUsing
battery will continually discharge if operated below the "Break Even" RPMContinued problems would call for battery inspection
Disconnect the Yellow wires from the regulatorrectifierUsing multitester, perform an Alternator Output (AC amp) testSee test
procedure on Page 10.22 for procedureIs output above amps? Yes Meter Setting: DC Volts Inspect the wiring harness between
the panel and the stator for damageIf no damage is found, remove the recoil and flywheelInspect the flywheel magnets, stator
coils and stator wire harness for damageRepair or replace any damaged components Reconnect the alternator wiresNote: Red
wire must be connected to harnessBattery voltage must be present on red wire terminal on harness side of voltage regulator
connectorIs it? Yes Check regulatorrectifier connections and ground, battery connections, circuit breaker and connecting
