FINAL DRIVE 11Slide the joint onto the drive shaft splines and align the circlip with the lead-in chamfer on the inner race12Use
straight O-ring pick or small slotted screw driver between the small end of the boot and the shaftThis will allow the air
pressure to equalize in the CV boot in the position that the joint will spend most of its lifeBefore you remove your instrument,
be sure the small end of the boot is in its correct location on the shaft NOTE: If using brass drift, be sure to tap on the
inner race of the joint only56Make sure the circlip remains on the shaft and not left in the jointDiscard the circlipRemove
the boot from the drive shaft Complete disassembly of the plunging joint is NOT recommendedThe internal components are precision
fit and develop their own characteristic wear patternsIntermixing the internal components could result in looseness, binding,
